My kids are doing first grade work .. I want to teach history and I found a curriculum but I’m very concerned about white washed history which comes with most of these curriculums .. I added the book you mentioned and I was wondering if you had a video or a source for read alouds that tell accurate history .. if you’ve done a previous video about it I’ll check your page .. thanks ! You really inspired me .. last year was a very hard year since I had twins and school wasn’t fun at all my kids continued to learn but I didn’t have the strength to place wonder and joy in it .. I was just focused on reading writing and math and fearful they would fall behind .. which made them groan whenever I said let’s do school 😢 .. this year I’m going to change it up completely ! Thanks for your ending comment about the point of homeschool ❤

Looks like you have picked out some great resources for your kiddos. I also love DK resources. I love how you use a variety of resources to teach math, I feel like that’s a subject that’s always seen as boring or challenging, but it’s because it’s so much of the time presented as only a “workbook” subject, but there are literally so many ways to learn math that are not boring. I believe the Life of Fred series has a few more books that are part of the elementary series, but you have plenty to use for now. I’m also planning to use it as a supplement. Hope you have a great year.

I’ll be adding a Spanish only playlist on Spotify & have my kids listen to songs & read along with the lyrics. Also, when I ask them a question in Spanish, I’ll have them respond in a full Spanish sentence. Me: Tienes frio? Child: Si tengo frio. Me: Ve a ponerte una chaqueta? Child: Voy por mi chaqueta.

Even as someone who was raised with one parent who was very gentle and was never spanked by either parent, gentle parenting can still be challenging for various reasons. I'm glad to see that more people are realizing that children don't need harsh punishment. You're such a good mom ❤

Have you done a DITL in español only? My first language is english and my husbands first language is spanish. I want to be able to speak to my kids, mostly if not all in spanish. I know I should have done this sooner, but I have no confidence in speaking Spanish even with my kids. ❤ I have been searching UA-cam for homeschool moms that teach in spanish, but I have had no luck.
